Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka

**************************

Afghanistan won the toss and put Sri Lanka into bat at in Cardiff.

After a difficult start Afghanistan began to pick up momentum after 13 overs when they took their first wicket of Dimuth Karunaratne, for there on they took wickets in quick succession. The first in the 22nd over, and within the same over there was 2 more leaving Sri Lanka on 145-4. In the 23rd came another and by the 26th over the score was 159-6. Sri Lanka tried to keep on going and settle the very rocky boat however they couldn’t and were bowled out in the 37th over for 201.

Afghanistan were chasing the lowest score of the tournament so far, however with the English weather being as it is it was going to be difficult due to the rain delays.

Afghanistan were going at a good run rate for a while until the weather decided to change it up a bit, having been on and off for rain delays and the overs being shortened Afghanistan need 50 more runs whilst in the 31st over a reachable target however they only had 4 wickets left.

The task proved too much for Afghanistan and the fell 34 runs short on DLS method after being bowled out for 152.
